About Divers Land
We are a small, Sri Lankan-owned dive centre with locations in Unawatuna, Galle, and Nilaveli, Trincomalee, founded by Shoy (Rishan) in 2011.
Whether you’re looking to try Discover Scuba Diving for your first underwater adventure, pursue PADI certifications such as Open Water, Advanced Diver, Rescue Diver, or Dive Master, or enjoy fun dives in Unawatuna and Trincomalee as a certified diver, we’ve got you covered.
Both the Unawatuna Dive Centre and Trincomalee Dive Centre are located at the top of the beach, where you will find our offices and our equipment rooms, a comfortable and shaded seating area, and both indoor and outdoor freshwater showers.
Just a step away is our shallow training pool, where Discover Scuba and Open Water trainees learn and practise basic scuba skills. Then it’s a 30 seconds stroll to the water’s edge, where our boats sit ready to take you to the ocean.
Our equipment is brand new and our air is fresh, so you never have to worry about the air you use for diving. Our team is young, and well trained – we believe in teamwork and ready to give you the ultimate professional service.
Your diving adventures are in good hands at the Divers Land Dive Centres.
See you soon!

Divers Land Trincomalee
Our northern dive centre is located in Nilaveli, just 15 km north of Trincomalee on the beautiful northeast coast of Sri Lanka. This region is known for its long sandy beaches, calm waters, and relaxed atmosphere. Travelling here from Colombo is straightforward — you can take a train or bus journey that usually takes around 7–8 hours, or take a taxi for a quicker option.
Diving in Trincomalee and Nilaveli offers some of the best underwater experiences in the country. The shallow sites are perfect for beginners and relaxed divers, while more experienced visitors can enjoy vibrant reefs, wreck dives, and encounters with rich marine life. The area is often regarded as home to the best coral reefs in Sri Lanka, making it a must-visit destination for scuba enthusiasts.
Open from April to October
Divers Land Unawatuna
Our southern dive centre is based in Unawatuna, just 5 km from Galle on the southwest tip of Sri Lanka. The area is well known for its lively beach scene, golden sand and relaxed coastal charm.
From Colombo, the journey takes around two hours by train or bus, making Unawatuna one of the most accessible diving spots in the country. Travellers can enjoy scenic views along the coastal railway or take the faster highway route by road.
Diving in Unawatuna offers a mix of fascinating shipwrecks, coral reefs and rich marine life. The highlight of the season comes between mid-February and mid-March, when divers have the chance to encounter whale sharks and manta rays in these warm southern waters.
